13 JUNE: Starting Up with Open Innovation Event
Jointly Dublinked, Dublin City Council & Innovation Dublin hosted an event to explore the area of 'Starting Up with Open Innovation'. Attendees on the day heard from industry experts in the field of Open Innovation, where they discussed the current trends, barriers and future challenges to developing & implementing Open Innovation Strategies. The format of the event enabled participants to network and explore the implementation of the Business Model Canvas technique with a workshop environment.

24 May: Dublinked Data Visualisation Event
We held our first Data Visualistion event on Thursday 24th May, to explore the area of data visualisation, learn about available data visualisation tools. Speakers on the day provided an overview of the current state of play in the area, future trends and identified challenges in the area. There were practical demonstrations of creating visualisations from Vanessa Lopez of IBM and Colman Mc Mahon of DIT , followed by a workshop where participants were invited to create visualisations using Dublinked data.

19 April: Dublinked IRLOGI Spatial Event
Dublinked & IRLOGI jointly held an event -to explore the area of Spatial data, learn about the tools to incorporate when working with spatial data, identify associated challenges and issues in using spatial data.Attendees heard from GIS Experts within Industry and Research, a Spatial Data User that recently entered the Apps4Fingal competition and mapped the NTA data available on Dublinked. The format gave participants the opportunity to listen to spatial data experts, network, and participate in breakout discussions under themes of Technical Formats, Aligning INSPIRE & Opendata & Crowdsourcing

15 DEC: Technical Workshop
Dublinked invited interested parties to come along to explore & discuss the various technology issues that underpin a data sharing platform including interoperability, architectures, semantic web, search engines and real-time data streaming. This workshop aimed to identify a roadmap that sets out the technology topics, challenges & priorities that are relevant to the successful operation of the Dublinked initiative.

In repsonse to the high demand for planning information, the Dublinked Innovation Network held a Planning themed workshop.This workshop explored the potential of planning open data, various topics were discussed including Strategic Planning, Planning Application, and issues surrounding Environment & Heritage. Presentations were made by Planning Experts, Local Authority Planning Representatives and a new startup company that is currently using open data to develop a planning application. The format of the workshop presented participants with an opportunity to develop ideas on how they might use the data differently & share their views on further data they would like.

On Tuesday, 18th October a unique initiative was launched between Dublin's Local Authorities and NUI Maynooth. Dublinked, the new regional data sharing initiative sees previously unreleased public operational data being made available online for others to research or reuse. Businesses, technologists, app developers, researchers and entrepreneurs are now invited to join "Dublinked" - a membership network to mine, exploit and utilise public data to generate new revenue streams and address regional issues.
